Curry Beef With a Shit Ton of Wontons

While wonton wrappers are a staple of Asian cuisine, you'll find them featured in all different types of recipes — Asian, southwestern, French and Italian, to name just a few. Where can I buy wonton wrappers?
When I first started cooking with wonton wrappers 30 years ago, they could be hard to find. But now, they're readily available at most grocery stores.
Look for them in the produce section, near the fresh herbs, tofu and egg roll wrappers. You can also find them at Asian markets and specialty stores. In some speciality markets, they may be in the freezer section.

Where can I find wonton wrappers?
You should be able to find wonton wrappers in the produce section of the grocery store, near the tofu and egg roll wrappers. They're often found in a special section with vegan items. Some specialty markets will have wonton skins in the freezer section.
How long do opened wonton wrappers last in the fridge?
Wrap unused wontons tightly in plastic and store in a zippered bag or air tight container. Stored this way, wrappers should be good for a week to 10 days once opened.
What can I do with leftover wonton wrappers?
If you have leftover wrappers from another recipe, one of the easiest things you can do is make some baked wonton cups.

How can you tell if a wonton wrapper is bad?
Always check the sell-by date on the package of wontons. If you see any mold on the surface of the wrappers, throw them away.
Wonton wrappers, by their nature, are dry, thin pieces of dough. However, if they're so dry that they've become hard, out, they may not be pliable or usable. It's best to toss dried, hardened wonton dough..
Can wonton wrappers be frozen?
Yes, you can freeze wonton wrappers. Wrap them securely in plastic wrap, then place in a freezer bag or air tight container.
You can freeze an entire package of wonton wrappers. But if you freeze them in small stacks, you can grab only as many as you need for a recipe.
Thaw frozen wonton skins in the refrigerator and use within a few days.
